Igor Kolaković’s side beat Belgium 3:1 (25:22, 22:25, 30:28, 25:18), and they will play in semifinals against Russia, like on 17th September 2011. in Vienna, when Serbia won and qualified for the final spot.
The key moment happened in third set. With Marko Podraščanin’s point from block, Serbia won 30:28 and mentally break down the opponent.
Simply, Red Dragons couldn’t back in this match. Serbs smashed them in last set by 25:18.
With 29 points Aleksandar Atanasijević was the most efficient on Serbia’s side, while Sam Deroo finished with 12 in Belgium’s jersey.
So, two years after, the same rivals will play in semifinals. But, there is no Ivan Miljković on Serbia side.
