WCHQ W: Cameroon and DR Congo book final round tickets in qualifier

Cameroon and DR Congo secured their tickets to the final phase of the 2014 FIVB Women's World Championship qualifier after they finished in the first and second positions respectively at Zone 4 (Pool P) qualification tournament held at Stade des Marthyrs in Kinshasa, Nov. 2nd to 6th.

The Cameroon women emerged victorious in their matches against Congo Brazzaville 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-11) and DR Congo 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-20) to win the gold medal and proceed to the final phase of the qualifier where they will be drawn in Pool 1 of the finals.

Host DR Congo earned the silver medal after they beat Congo Brazzaville 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) and also proceed to Pool 1 of the finals.

The top two teams from Zone 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will join Zone 1 and 7 champions to the final phase of the qualifier. The 12 teams will be joined also by the top two African ranked teams in the FIVB Ranking making over a total of 14 teams to be divided into two final pools, the champions of each pool secure their tickets to the finals of the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Italy.
