In the meantime a state-of-the-art stadium was completed right on the spot of the old Dinamo hall where the team won 22 national titles and that was demolished a few years ago. This facility – which has a capacity of 2,400 – will host the upcoming match starring Dinamo Romprest and Belgium’s GENT Dames for the third round of action in Pool C coming up on Wednesday.
This home match is extremely important for Dinamo Romprest that needs a victory in order to keep alive their chances to continue their campaign in this year’s European Cups.
“The game with GENT Dames could represent a re-start for us in this competition” says General Manager Marian Stefan. “Though we know that Volleyball has dramatically progressed in Belgium, I still think that we are the favorite going into this game. We have so far swept all of our matches in the national league and this evidently is a great boost of confidence. On the other hand, the defeats we have suffered to VakifBank and SOPOT provide us with extra motivation. I trust our players and I am confident that we will celebrate a victory in the end. It would be a major success for our club as we have invested a lot of money and energy, also for this magnificent sports hall where the CEV Volleyball Champions League will debut on Wednesday” he adds.
“We expect a tough match especially since the players from Belgium have showed their value at this year’s European Championship” stresses Dinamo team captain Alida Marcovici. “This game will see our team and GENT fight for third place in the Pool and of course I hope that we will win in the end.”
