“After playing Russia’s Belogorie BELGOROD in the prelims, we are set to play another top team in this competition” Noliko head coach Erik Verstraten says. “My players will be very motivated to play TRENTINO since this game is another important step in their individual and collective development. This is a chance you do not get that often” he continues.
“Since I started my coaching career I have played Noliko quite many times, so this seems to be a a regular feature in my personal Volleyball story” adds TRENTINO mentor Roberto Serniotti. “Noliko is a club with a long tradition that has written the history of our sport in Belgium and has also launched some world-class players like for instance Wout Wijsmans. We will prepare very carefully for this double-header with Noliko. Even though they have changed some players I know that their main strengths are still the same: their float serve and their defense are the strongest attributes of this team” he stresses.
Both teams have gone through ups and downs lately in their respective national leagues – TRENTINO lost 1:3 at home to Calzedonia VERONA on Wednesday before edging this weekend Andreoli LATINA with the same score while Noliko needed five sets before having the upper hand in their clash with Argex Duvel PUURS.
