Ms Main is originally from Russia where she played volleyball internationally at Junior level before studying and working in Scotland where she won selection on to the Senior Women representative squad.
“I am delighted and honoured to be elected as President of the BVF. I relish the opportunities and challenges we face with developing this exciting Olympic and Paralympic sport around Britain and aiming to improve all the team GB performances.” Ms Main said.
Mr Callicott said “I have been very privileged to have been President of BVF and was honoured to have seen all our British teams perform with credit in the London Olympics. There are many new challenges facing our sport in years to come but I am sure that the BVF will continue to develop relationships and programmes for young people across the UK in volleyball, beach volleyball and sitting volleyball which we started and brought to reality in the Summer Games of 2012. British Volleyball has stepped onto the World Volleyball stage and I feel sure that will continue and we will see our Volleyballers take part again in future Olympic and Paralympic Games”.
