Another volleyball star is saying goodbye to the national team after the Tokyo Olympics.
Olympic Champion from Tokyo, bronze medalist from Rio Olympics 2016 and 2014 World Champion Kimberly Hill announced that she will retire from the national team and, it seems, stop playing professionally outside the USA.
Even last year, before the decision to postpone the Olympic Games was made, she announced such a decision.
“For sure, I’ll be done with the national team after the Olympics, and likely done playing overseas” – she said in an interview for the Portland Tribune, before Tokyo 2020 was postponed to summer 2021, and the announcement of this decision was published later on the FIVB website.
Last season Hill played in Italy for Imoco Volley Conegliano. In the 2020/2021 season with the Italian team, she won the Italian Cup, Italian SuperLega, Italian Super Cup and the CEV Champions League.
Kimberly Hill is one of the best female volleyball players in the USA in the 21st century.
