The world’s female volleyball star Zhu Ting will have to have surgery on her right wrist.
The Chinese outside hitter and one of the best female players in the world at the moment, Zhu Ting, confirmed the need to perform the operation on her right wrist. The MVP of the Rio Olympics has been struggling with this injury for almost a year. It forced her to miss the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, while she performed far below her level at the Tokyo Olympics because of it.
Zhu Ting didn’t specify the date of surgery nor how long the recovery process will last while answering the questions of her fans on one of the Chinese social networks. But, she reassured all that she will not be sidelined for a long time.
“I don’t think anyone should be impatient. We are contacting doctors. In fact, the operation may not be particularly difficult, but the most important thing is the recovery time. Surgery will definitely be required. After doing it, recovery will be slow in order for me to be in a better state and then go back to the court to play in a healthy manner. Don’t worry, in fact, I’m even more impatient than you because I want to play, too!” she said.
