CSO Voluntari has triumphed in the Romanian league, defeating Volei Alba Blaj 3-0 in the playoff final series to secure their first-ever title.
Despite a rocky start to the season with three consecutive losses, the team underwent several coaching changes before finding success under Italian coach Giovanni Caprara.
Caprara, who joined the team mid-season, turned around their fortunes by leading them to a strong finish in the regular season and a stellar performance in the playoffs. Starting from a challenging fifth place, Voluntari defeated top teams to reach and ultimately win the final.
The victory was particularly sweet as Voluntari had never previously finished higher than fourth in regular season play. Under Caprara’s guidance, the team not only defied expectations but also made a memorable mark in the history of Romanian volleyball.
