In a recent interview with Tehran Times, Belgian coach Vital Heynen expressed confidence in Iran’s volleyball prospects despite the national team’s absence from the 2024 Olympic Games. Iran’s disappointing performance in the 2024 Volleyball Nations League, where they finished 15th out of 16 teams, led to the dismissal of coach Mauricio Paes.

Heynen, who now leads the Chinese national team, acknowledged Iran’s current struggles but highlighted the potential he sees in their young players. He emphasized that Iran has a promising future and advised the Iranian Volleyball Federation to maintain their focus and continue developing their talent.
