Volleyball Canada has announced Giovanni Guidetti as the new head coach of the women’s national team, while Shannon Winzer transitions to High-Performance Director.

Guidetti, the legendary coach renowned for his remarkable success with Vakıfbank and various national teams, shared his excitement: “I’ve always admired Canada’s progress in volleyball. Being ranked eighth in the world is a huge achievement and a solid foundation to aim for the Los Angeles Olympics. Canada has world-class talent and promising young players, and I’m excited to be part of this journey.”
Winzer, who guided Canada to its best-ever performances, will now focus on strengthening athlete development pathways. Guidetti’s tenure begins in June at the Volleyball Nations League.
