In a gripping men’s volleyball final at the brand-new Zeleni brijeg hall in Sisak, Mursa Osijek triumphed over long-time rivals HAOK Mladost Zagreb with a thrilling 3-2 victory (28:26, 26:24, 23:25, 23:25, 17:15) to lift the Super Sport Cup of Croatia – Vinko Dobrić.
After losing to Mladost three times earlier this season, Osijek’s side came from two sets down to claim a hard-fought win. The match was a nail-biting battle from start to finish, featuring incredible rallies, sharp blocks, and dramatic twists in each set.
Mladost started strong, taking the first two sets, but Mursa never backed down. Led by standout opposite Leo Andrić, who scored an incredible 36 points, Osijek turned the tide with clutch plays in the final moments of each set.
“We gave it our all in every single point,” said Andrić. “They beat us three times this season, but we believed in ourselves and fought back. It’s an incredible feeling.”
Coach Ratko Peris praised both teams: “Every set was a battle. Mladost is a great team, but I think we deserved this win today.”
Despite having match points, Mladost couldn’t hold on in the fifth-set decider. Coach Radovan Gačić acknowledged the intensity of the match: “It was high-level volleyball. We had our chances, but Mursa’s resilience paid off.”
