ACH Volley Ljubljana has once again proven why it’s the dominant force in Slovenian men’s volleyball. With a 3:1 victory over Alpacem Kanal in Game 3 of the championship series, the capital city team sealed its fourth consecutive national title, marking the 21st championship in club history.

The match, played at Tivoli Arena in Ljubljana, started off with a surprise. Kanal came out strong and snatched the first set 25:23 — their first set win in this year’s finals. It looked like the underdogs might rewrite the script.

But ACH quickly regrouped. Their experience and depth showed in the next three sets, which they won 25:18, 25:21, and 25:17.

Final Score:
ACH Volley Ljubljana 3 – 1 Alpacem Kanal
(Sets: 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17)

Slovenian Volleyball Champions (Past 5 Seasons):

  • 2024/2025: ACH Volley Ljubljana
  • 2023/2024: ACH Volley Ljubljana
  • 2022/2023: ACH Volley Ljubljana
  • 2021/2022: ACH Volley Ljubljana
  • 2020/2021: Merkur Maribor

ACH Volley has now won 13 of the last 14 titles and shows no signs of slowing down.

Now we need to see how the situation develops further. Although not officially confirmed, the arrivals of coach Igor Kolaković, Slovenian national team captain Tine Urnaut, and national team players Alen Pajenk, Gregor Ropret, and Tonček Štern have been announced, along with potentially more reinforcements. Promising young Slovenian talents such as Luka Marovt, Nejc Najdič, and Janz Janez Kržič are also expected to remain on the roster. With everything coming together in Ljubljana, a major project is underway to bring the team into the elite ranks of European volleyball.

On the way out is coach Matjaž Hafner, a local coach from Ljubljana who led the team to two Slovenian championship titles, as well as victories in the Slovenian Cup and the MEVZA League. He also achieved this year’s goal of progressing from the group stage of the CEV Champions League to the CEV Cup. Despite this successful run, he will not remain at the helm for the upcoming season.
