CSKA Sofia recorded 9th victory in the Bulgarian Super League. The protégés of the coach Alexander Popov managed to turn over the match and beat the title holder Marek Union Ivkoni Dupnitsa with 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15) in the most interesting match of the 16th round.

Thus, the team from the Bulgarian capital caused the second consecutive loss to Marek and climbed to 4th place in the standings with 29 points (9 wins and 7 losses).

On the other hand, Marek remained second with 32 points after 12 wins and 3 losses with less and less chances to claim top spot for playoff, two rounds to go.

The leader, Montana Volley, made a great turnaround and overcame at home very tough Balkanstroy Pirin Razlog with 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-10).

With this success Montana recorded the 13th victory in the championship so far and has only 3 losses.

Although the success in a tiebreaker gave only two points to them, Montana retained first place in the standings. Pirin occupies third place.
