Ponce
Ponce is undefeated in three outings after sending Mayaguez with their backs against the wall with a 0-3 win-loss mark in the quarterfinals.
Once again the tandem of Americans Kelsey Robinson and Haley Eckerman spearheaded Ponce’s attack by scoring 21 and 20 points, respectively. Veteran Jetzabel del Valle contrinbuted 11 points in the win.
Kim Willoughby led Mayaguez Indios with 19 points while McKenzie Adams added 11 in the loss.
In the other match of Saturday, Juncos improved to a 2-0 win-loss record in Series A following a straight-set (25-21, 25-17, 27-25) victory over Caguas.
Sheila Ocasio and Yarimar Rosa led a balanced offense of Juncos with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Karina Ocasio and Stephanie Enright finished with 15 and 13 for Caguas.
