Argentina was competitive only in the second set, reaching Japanese gap and equalizing to 11-all after trailing 10-7, but it was all good from the South Americans.
Leticia Boscacci and Sol Piccolo had both seven points in Argentina as the most efficient players.
Peru outplayed Algeria in Matsumoto and gained a clear victory 3-0 (26-16, 25-13, 25-16) to start the competition successfully.
