By taking an exhausting fifth set, the Dominicans claimed their first ever title in this age category which caused a frantic celebration of their players on the field.
The MVP of the tournament and the finals, the Dominican outside hitter/receiver Brayelin Martínez, undoubtedly showed once again that she has no competition in U20’s world volleyball, scoring 32 points versus Brazil.
Believe it or not, she was not the most efficient player on the court as Brazilian opposite Lorenne Geraldo had 39!!!

In the bronze medal clash, Italy beat Japan in straight sets 3-0 (28-26, 25-22, 25-19) with 15 points from Anna Danesi.
Mizuki Yanagita scored 20 for Japanese team.
