“The first set was perfect. It was a match to warm up and to take the rhythm” added top scorer Lucas Saatkamp.
Tunisia’s most prolific player Hichem Kaabi summed up his thoughts after this Olympic debut at Earls Court: “It was our aim to qualify for the Olympic Games. We’ve had an opportunity to participate, but unfortunately we were in this program with the greatest champions of the world. The objective here is to play well and to have taken part and to have honoured our country. We are going to try our very best to beat a team. We are realists and it’s not a great defeat. It was expected. Our level is near the African level. We need to progress, but it is very good to play a competition like the Olympic Games and to be near the big teams”.
