On the second day of the women’s volleyball tournament at Olympic Games, the Dutch captain got injured.

Maret Grotheus

In the fourth set of the match between USA and The Netherlands, Maret Balkestein – Grothues injured the right ankle and left the court.

In that moment the Netherlands led 2-1 in the sets and she injured on 9-11. Judith Pietersen has replaced her.

We must say that this is not her year since recently she returned to the squad after a knee injury.

However, we hope that everything will be O.K. with the Dutch captain and that she will be able to continue the competition.
