Iran Men’s Volleyball National Team seized their third Asian Cup title.

Iran made a turnaround against China in the final of the fifth edition of biennial tournament, held in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand 3-1 (23-25 25-23 25-21 25-21).

It was the third time these two teams meet in the gold medal match and Iran took 2-1 lead. Both have reached the final without previously suffering a defeat.

Iran’s Rahman Davoodi scored a match-high 18 points. Jiang Chuan led China with 27 points.

In the bronze medal match, Japan outplayed Chinese Taipei 3-1 (25-18, 17-25, 28-26, 25-12).

Next edition of Asian Cup for Men will be held in Chinese Taipei, in 2018.
