POR M: Benfica down reigning champions Bastardo to claim Super Cup trophy

SL Benfica Lisboa won Portuguese Men’s Volleyball Super Cup for the sixth consecutive time by beating AJ Fonte Bastardo Azores in straight sets in the match played in Viseu.

Official opening of the men’s volleyball season in Portugal was in Viseu, where the winners of the national Cup Benfica showed superiority in all game aspects against reigning champions Bastardo, closing the Super Cup final in just three sets, with partial 25-18, 25-22 and 25-17.

With 14 points, Benfica’s Cuban Joan Díaz ‘Ché’ was the best scorer of the game, followed by Brazilian Raphael Oliveira ‘Rapha’ with 13. Brazilians João Freitas andCaíque Silva were the best scorers of Bastardo with 9 points each.
