Germany completed their campaign in the European qualifier – Pool E by scoring a sixth consecutive victory to finish with a perfect score. Their last win came on Saturday in Maribor as they easily disposed of Sweden in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, and 25-13). Sweden finished the double round robin with six defeats.

Germany even played without their superstar Georg Grozer but this did not affect the final result at all.
Germany experienced some difficulties only in the early phases of the first set as Sweden went up by two points a couple of times, but once they caught the right pace, the guys around head coach Vital Heynen totally dominated the scene going for a comfortable 3:0.
