The team has undergone several changes. The most important is probably the appointment of a new head coach, Luka Slabe, who was at the helm of Calcit KAMNIK and OK KROPA in the past two seasons and always came in second in the Slovenian championship. Five players left the team, namely Dejan Vinčić (for PGE Skra BELCHATOW, Poland), Klemen Čebulj (VC Altotevere SAN GIUSTINO, Italy), Alen Komel (GC LAMIA, Greece), Adam Simac and Matevž Kamnik (injury). They were replaced by four international players: Brazilian setter Carlos Moreno (from NARBONNE Volley), Serbian middle-blocker Borislav Petrović (Stade Poitevin POITIERS), French opposite Mory Sidibe (Copra PIACENZA) and US wing-spiker Jayson Jablonsky (TOURCOING VB).
Despite the numerous changes, the team aims to make it to the second stage of the Champions League. Its opponents in Pool D are Lube Banca Marche MACERATA (ITA), Euphony ASSE-LENNIK (BEL) and Generali UNTERHACHING (GER). The head coach Luka Slabe, team manager Aleš Jerala and the president of the administrative board of the club Rasto Oderlap emphasized that the team will focus primarily on the Champions League this year.
“We have difficult and attractive opponents in our group this year. We will have to be better than them to make it to the second round. After that, we can think about applying for the organization of the final four here in Ljubljana”, stated Oderlap.
