Jihostroj the last five seasons, won the title four times. South Bohemian club wants to finally break through in Europe cups, which he failed in previous years. According to this year’s roster the club manager Zdenek Scheichla sead that Ceske Budejovice has the strongest team in the club’s history.
Transfer of this year’s is unquestionably the arrival of Czech national spiker Peter Platenik from Turkish team of Halkbank Ankara. The team also strengthened Czech national Vladimir Sobotka and Michal Kriško, came from junior team promising Petr Sulista. Defending champion left Radek Motys (Belgium) and Stepan Smrčka (end of career). This season the team will lead head coach Jan Svoboda and his assistant Stanislav Understand.
Besides Vladimir Sobotka and Michal Krisko for Ceske Budejovice will play Radek Mach, Filip Habr, Tomas Fila and David Juračka.
VK Jihostroj Czech Budejovice boasts a large youth base, which trains youth players into representations. The Junior Team has Anthony Bedi, Peter Šulista and Martin Pleva in cadet category are given the opportunity to Martin Tibitanzl and Jiri Kraffer.
When asked what goals has club for next season, team manager Zdeněk Scheichl clearly replied, “Of course the title in the Czech Extra League, the Champions League we wanted to be second in the group and fight to advance to the final battles,” says Zdeněk Scheichl.
