Mongolia and Hong Kong of China will be welcomed as the newest participants in the 9th edition of the Asian Youth Girls’ Championship. Read the latest news from volleyball world on worldofvolley.com.

Hong Kong enter the competition with four-time champion China and Vietnam in Pool A. Defending titlist Japan join Australia, India and Iran in Pool B. Thailand, Kazakhstan and Mongolia comprise Pool C, while Korea, Chinese Taipei and Sri Lanka complete this year’s entrants in Pool D.

Japan will commence their bid to capture their fifth title in a 17:00h match against India. Three-time bronze finishers Thailand will likewise intend to start off strong as they face Kazakhstan at 19:00h.

The Asian Youth Girls’ Championship marked its inaugural edition in 1997 in Thailand, and has since hailed emerging volleyball stars in Asia. The victors to be determined during the finale on October 20 shall advance to the FIVB Girls Youth World Championship in 2013.
