BUL: Dancho Lazarov to head Bulgarian Federation for next Olympic cycle

BVF President Dancho Lazarov opened the meeting via his annual report and by declaring 2012 as the most successful year for the sport in Bulgaria in the past few decades. CEV President André Meyer took briefly the floor to congratulate the Bulgarian Federation for the remarkable success achieved in 2012, with the men’s national team finishing in fourth place at the London Olympics and the ladies claiming silver in the European League thereby qualifying for next year’s FIVB World Grand Prix.

The delegates unanimously re-elected Mr. Lazarov BVF President also for the next 4 years as well as determined the composition of the Board of Administration for the next term.

Right before the General Assembly, the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation announced that a sponsor was contracted, namely the Corporate Commercial Bank, a well-known financial institution in the country. Out of this sponsorship agreement, 100’000 € will be invested to support the youth teams of the many Volleyball clubs distributed across the country.
