Firstly, Logroño signed a 21-year-old Spanish NT libero Patricia Llabrés. She came from Superliga rivals Haro Rioja Voley, where she spent last three seasons, being awarded Best Libero in the 2016/17 national championship. Another player of the same age arrived from the same club – setter María Figueroa. To prove they think of the future, Logroño tied a 18-year-old receiver Ana Escamilla from Feel Volley Alcobendas. In addition, Superliga title holders hired U.S. setter Nicole Edelman from Hotel Crystal VFM (Switzerland).
Logroño kept the core of the last season’s roster by extending with Serbian blocker Iva Pejković, Brazilian blocker Fernanda Gritzbach ‘Fer’, Brazilian receiver Daniela da Silva, receivers Amelia Portero and Helia González and libero Patricia Rodríguez.
Apart from the players, Logroño made a change in the coaching staff by appointing Argentinian Daniel Gallardo as the new head coach. He arrived from his home country where he was at the helm of CV San Juan. Still, he is highly appreciated in Spain since he took Superliga three times with Tenerife Marichal (1999, 2001 and 2002).
