All players that left Zenit Kazan at the end of the 2016/17 season have found themselves new club for next season, except one.

Igor Kobzar officially reinforced Zenit Kazan’s rivals in the Russian Men’s Volleyball Championship, Kuzbass Kemerovo, where he will make a pair of setters in the roster with Sergey Makarov. These two are the winning combination since last time they both wore the jersey of the same club, it took national title – Belogorie Belgorod, in 2013.

Before Kobzar, Kuzbass hired opposite Vitaliy Vasilyev (Neftyanik Orenburg), receivers Dmitriy Ilinykh (Dinamo Moscow) and  Yaroslav Podlesnykh (Belogorie Belgorod) and Ukrainian middle blocker Dmytro Pashytskyy (Lotos Trefl Gdańsk, Poland). Earlier, Kuzbass extended with 7 players.

As for more departures from Zenit Kazan, middle blocker Ivan Demakov joined his last season’s teammate, opposite Denis Zemchenyok, in Dinamo Leningradskaya Oblast (Dinamo-LO).

So far, only receiver Vladimir Melynik did not find himself a new club for 2017/18 of the players who left Zenit Kazan.
