Losing the first set by big margins, Chinese Taipei showed excellent block and dig in second and third set which caused problems for Korea. Setter and capitan of Korea did not perform well. However, due to their height disadvantage, Chinese Taipei could not confronted the taller rivals on the net and lost the match.
Korean head coach Kim Young-Il said “We played good in blocking and we also had quick attacks. In first set our combination was good but in next two sets our dig and reception was poor. I have given my young players the chance to play in this match and learn from playing.”
Taipei’s head coach Chiu Pao-Szu said “In first set my players were scaring from the opponent. But in the second and third set, we got our spirit and performed our own play.”
With the win, Korea collected six points and top Pool C, entering the second round.
