The hosts started their first European campaign in history by losing 1:3 in Turkey to Arkas IZMIR and then suffered a home defeat (0:3) to Noliko MAASEIK so they currently sit at the bottom of the standings in their group.
The team recently suffered its first setback in the national league (2:3 to Levski SOFIA) but still remains on top of the tables there with 13 points out of five matches. “We suffered this loss but this shall not have an impact on our European clash with CAI TERUEL. This game is crucial to determine who is going to end third in the group and we will be doing our best to bring it home. In the last two matches our young players felt much pressure and this has affected the quality of their performance. I want them to stay calm and show all of their potential to make our fans happy” says head coach Nayden Naydenov.
CAI TERUEL recently downed CV ZARAGOZA in straight sets and is the current leader of Spain’s national league. This result certainly provided the group with the right boost of energy before they travel to Bulgaria to play Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA.
