Gyselle Silva signed a contract with Chemik to become the second Cuban player in the roster for the 2019/20 after Salas, who joined the club earlier.
A 27-year-old opposite hitter (who can also cover the outside hitter’s position) is well known by her spike reach of 3.17m, which is more than respectable for the Women’s competition.
Last season Silva played in the Italian league for Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri, playing 24 games and scoring 395 points. A year and a half ago, former Cuba national team member (2010 FIVB World Championship) Silva set the Philippine Championship single-game scoring record, which is the fourth-best scoring record in the whole world in a single match.
In the last few days, Chemik also signed libero Paulina Maj-Erwardt (BKS PROFI-CREDIT Bielsko-Biała) and extended with middle blocker Iga Chojnacka. The club parted ways with the Serbian duo – the setter Slađana Mirković (Zanetti Bergamo) and outside hitter Bianka Buša.
