Belgium national team member Verhees joined Aluron Virtu on a one-year contract. A 29-year-old player defended the colors of Consar Ravenna from Italy in the previous season.
Verhees has won the Belgian Championship, Cup and Super Cup twice each (all Greenyard Maaseik) and Italian Cup (Azimut Leo Shoes Modena) once. Individually, he was named Best Blocker of the Belgian Championship finals twice and Best Middle Blocker of an Italian Championship once.
Prior to Verhees, Aluron Virtu hired middle blocker Patryk Czarnowski (PGE Skra Bełchatów) and outside hitter Wojciech Ferens (Jastrzębski Węgiel).
The club renewed with middle blockers Bartosz Gawryszewski and Łukasz Swodczyk, libero Krzysztof Andrzejewski, outside hitters – Portuguese Alexandre Ferreira and Marcin Waliński, Japanese libero Taichiro Koga, opposite hitters Mateusz Malinowski and Grzegorz Bociek and Slovakian setter Michal Masný.
Aluron Virtu parted ways with outside hitters Michał Żuk (BBTS Bielsko-Biała) and Kamil Semeniuk (ZAKSA Kędzierzyn Koźle) and middle blocker Krzysztof Rejno (ZAKSA Kędzierzyn Koźle).
