ZAKSA and Jastrzębski met for the 78th time in the history of PlusLiga. Today’s hosts Jastrzębski had a slight lead in mutual encounters prior to the match (41-36) but the last time they beat ZAKSA was more than four and a half years. And it turned out that Jastrzębski will have to wait for the next victory at least for a few months when these two will meet in the second part of the ongoing season.
Players of the champions ZAKSA silenced more than 3,000 fans at packed stands of the Sports and Entertainment Hall in Jastrzębie-Zdrój: 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-20). Łukasz Kaczmarek top-scored for undefeated ZAKSA (3-0) with 14 points while French setter Benjamin Toniutti was named MVP of the match. Tomasz Fornal was the only double-digit player in Jastrzębski, who suffered their first defeat in the season, with 12 points.
