The players of Asseco Resovia Rzeszów have finally given their fans a reason to be happy. The multiple champions needed four matches to write down the premier win in the 2019/20 PlusLiga regular season. Resovia downed BKS Visła Bydgoszcz in an advanced match of Round 5 by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-22). Canadian Nicholas Hoag was the most productive player for the winning side with 17 points. Slovenian Tonček Štern scored 15 for Bydgoszcz.
MKS Ślepsk Malow Suwałki provided strong resistance to the titleholders and first-placed side in the current charts Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle but have fallen in four sets: 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 27-25). The PlusLiga newcomers took the opening set of the postponed match of Round 1 and failed to convert a set point at 25-24 in the fourth set. Łukasz Kaczmarek top ZAKSA’s scorers with 16 points. The Frenchman Nicolas Szerszeń scored 13 points for Ślepsk. Patryk Szwaradzki served 4 aces, while Wojciech Siek made 4 kill blocks.
