The two Polish men’s volleyball clubs PGE Skra Bełchatów and Trefl Gdańsk will cut salaries of their players.

Skra-vs-Trefl

The most titled PlusLiga club Skra and their rivals Trefl reached an agreement with all the players and coaching staff, who have been part of their squads the 2019/20 season, to reduce their salaries. This is a result of losing several partners and sponsors after the coronavirus crisis.

Trefl cut salaries by 17 % and will have to reduce the team’s budget for the next season by 30 %. As for Skra, the salary cut will be 15 %.

Thus, these two clubs followed the examples of Brazil’s Sada Cruzeiro, Italy’s Cucine Lube Civitanova, as well as the entire Italian Championship.
