After playing in her native Poland for Impel Gwardia WROCLAW, Efimienko spent the past season in Italy with Imoco CONEGLIANO, runner-up in Italy’s first division. „I had a very nice time in Italy with the players and the local staff but at the end of the season I started having some offers and eventually opted for Atom Trefl” she says. „They want to build a strong group going for maximum goals in Poland as well as in Europe; a group good enough to play at eye level with the best sides in the CEV Volleyball Champions League. This eventually convinced me that I want to play for SOPOT in the next season” the 24-year old middle-blocker stresses.
Born in Luban, Zuzanna Efimienko – who stands at 197 cm – is a bronze medalist from the 2009 Universiade in Beograd; she debuted with Poland’s national team as she was only 17 under the guidance of Marco Bonitta. She was part of the group in the final round of the 2011 European Championship as well as in the last editions of the FIVB World Grand Prix. She is set to represent Poland internationally this year too as she is one of the players called by the new head coach Piotr Makowski. Efimienko has signed with Atom Trefl for one year with the option to prolong the contract for another season.
