PGE Skra Bełchatów needed five sets to beat Indykpol AZS Olsztyn at home in Round 2 of the 2021/22 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship.
After a fierce fight, Skra won the second-round encounter of the 2021/22 PlusLiga against Olsztyn: 3-2 (25-16, 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 15-10). It was a tough debut of the leagues’ powerhouse from Bełchatów in front of the home crowd to the new season, which almost ended covered in wounds. Aleksandar Atanasijević made sure that Skra does not completely lose track of the game in which they had the lead of 2-0 in sets and allowed rivals to level at 2-2. Serbian opposite hitter scored 22 points.
Thus far, the offseason’s busy transfer activities of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie management bear fruits. The ’Jurassic Knights’ achieved the second win in as many games, doing it at home in front of 5,000 fans and against the rivals whom they didn’t beat in two years – Trefl Gdańsk. Serbian Uroš Kovačević showed top-class tonight, tallying 26 points through 59 % attack. Portuguese Miguel Tavares served four aces.
