The vice-champions Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle defeated bronze medalists Projekt Warszawa in the fourth round of the 2021/22 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship.
In the big match of Round 4 of the 2021/22 PlusLiga between the two undefeated sides, ZAKSA beat Warszawa 3-2 (25-27, 25-18, 14-25, 25-18, 15-9). The vice-champions remained invincible and can boast a full set of four wins. Before the first referee’s whistle, only one point split the two rivals in the table. ZAKSA’s determination led them to turn the match around after 1-2 in sets. The last victory of the Warsaw team in head-to-head encounters with ZAKSA was two years ago. Łukasz Kaczmarek top-scored the European club champions with 25 points but his teammate Kamil Semeniuk didn’t lag much behind in the scoresheet – 24 points. Both made four blocks.
Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom earned their inaugural victory and first points on the account of the season as they beat Trefl Gdańsk, which also didn’t start well in 2021/22, in four sets. Rafał Faryna put down 18 points on the winning side, while Mateusz Masłowski had 72% reception (18 digs, 39% perfect).
