Skra won the quarter-final series against Olsztyn 2-1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the 2021/22 PlusLiga. Thus, the name of the third Top-4 participant became known as Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie made it through earlier. The Bełchatów side, who came 3rd in the regular season, was the favorite of the pairing given it had the 6th-seed as the rival. However, they lost the first match at home and dominated the second on the road so the fight for promotion to the playoff semis returned to their hall.

After a fantastic meeting for which both teams deserve huge praise, the hosts were slightly better. Serbian Aleksandar Atanasijević was on a high level, producing 28 points, including 5 aces, for Skra. Mateusz Bieniek had 92% attack (11/12), while Kacper Piechocki made 70% reception (33 digs, 1 error, 42% perfect).
