The next Men’s Club World Championship will definitely be played in Brazil once again, not in Perugia, Italy. And there’ll be no representative of the Polish league in this tournament again too.

ZAKSA have withdrawn from participation and another Italian team will travel to the event instead of the reigning CEV Champions League winners. The Perugia president, Gino Sirci, said that they’ve received an invitation to participate in the Club World Champs 2022, a tournament composed of the six best teams in the world, and they accepted the invitation. He said that Perugia was the first deputy of ZAKSA.

The information about a withdrawal was confirmed by the Polish club. It cited “logistical reasons, taking into account the intense match calendar as well as the health and safety of the team” as reasons for its absence.

The invited sides are Itas Trentino (Italy, the finalists of the Champions League 2022), Sada Cruzeiro (Brazil, tournament organizers and current South American club champions), Minas Tênis Clube (Brazil, current South American Club Championship runners-up), Vôlei Renata (Brazil, the bronze medalists of the last South American Club), and Paykan Tehran (Iran, the reigning Asian club champions).
