The 2022-23 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship hit didn’t disappoint, although it ended in three sets.
One of the two unbeaten 7-0 series was to be discontinued. In a hit match of Round 8 of the 2022-23 PlusLiga, Jastrzębski Węgiel defeated Asseco Resovia 3-0 but after a fierce fight.
It was a clash of two teams that had an excellent start to the season, the two unbeaten teams so far, and the hosts strengthened their position at the top of the table thanks to this victory. Each of the sets was very even, and in all sets, it seemed that Resovia would prevail (8-4 in the first set, 7-3 in the second set, and 6-1 in the third set), but ’The Hawks’ were great in the finishes of all three – all ending in overtime. So, after this match, there’s only one team with a perfect record in PlusLiga.
The Frenchman Stéphen Boyer was Jastrzębski’s highlight today, scoring 16 points.
