The Polish champions encountered their first problems in the 2022–23 TAURON Liga. Chemik struggled in the match against Wrocław in the second round. They avoided a big setback and secured a victory in the tie-break but unexpectedly lost one point to the underdogs.

Chemik played the first match since 2017 in Netto Arena (former Azoty Arena) in Szczecin in domestic competition. They have performed regularly in the city since 2014, after which they moved to a smaller facility in Police, coming back to Szczecin only for the CEV Champions League matches. The Serbian opposite, Jovana Brakočević-Canzian, top-scored for the winning side with 19 points, including 4 aces.
