He was once one of the best setters in the world—calm, sharp, and endlessly passionate. And even last season, when his club was in a pinch, Łukasz Żygadło stepped back onto the court and reminded everyone that talent and heart never truly fade.
Now, Żygadło is taking on a new challenge, this time off the court. Starting July 1st, 2025, he will become the new President of KS Norwid Częstochowa, one of Poland’s most respected volleyball clubs. The move follows the resignation of longtime president Lesław Walaszczyk, who leaves behind a legacy of dedication, progress, and deep care for the club.
Żygadło is no stranger to Norwid. He’s been closely involved behind the scenes and has already made his mark as the club’s director. But this next step is different. It’s bigger. It’s a sign that the club believes in having volleyball people—real volleyball people—at the heart of its future.
What makes this appointment feel special is the journey. Żygadło isn’t just a former star; he’s someone who lived the game fully. He knows what it means to fight for every point, to rally a team, and to inspire from the bench or the boardroom. His new role blends that spirit with smart leadership, aimed at lifting Norwid even higher.
As he steps into his new shoes (likely less sweaty than his old ones), fans are hopeful. They see a leader who gets it—not just the business of volleyball, but the soul of it. With a focus on professionalism, youth development, and growing the club’s reach, Żygadło’s presidency feels like a homegrown promise for a brighter future.
