The two-time defending Polish champions lost for the first time this season in TAURON Liga. At home, UNI Opole broke the unbeaten run of Grupa Azoty Chemik Police of 4-0 in a delayed match of Round 3, earning their first-ever victory over the Police giants.

Chemik took the first set, and it didn’t look like a setback later. But the comfortable result in this period caused Marek Mierzwiński’s wards to relax. On the other hand, Opole improved their effectiveness in attack, but above all, they defended with dedication on the net (15 blocks). In the fourth set, the home side ashamed favorites by starting the period with 12-1! Opole didn’t intend to let the chance slip from their hands and didn’t allow Chemik to return from a long journey.

Ukrainian Anastasiya Kraiduba was the main protagonist on the winning team, scoring 27 points. Brazilian Vivian Pellegrino made 4 blocks. Serb Jovana Brakočević-Canzian tallied 21 points for Chemik, including 4 blocks.
