In a dramatic clash of volleyball titans, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle edged out Jastrzębski Węgiel 3-2 to claim the AL-KO Super Cup of Poland, hosted at the Spodek Arena in Katowice. Both finalists from this year’s Champions League gave the audience a nail-biting spectacle, with the Polish champions initially leading the match 2-0 and 19-13 in the third set, only for the team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle to turn the tides and secure the win.

The match began with an unexpected turn as Jastrzębski Węgiel took an early 6-0 lead, maintaining a clear advantage throughout the first set and closing it at 25-20.
The second set saw a more evenly matched game with the scores tied at various points. It was only at the very end that ZAKSA managed a slight lead (22-20), but their opponents quickly closed the gap and Jastrzębski Węgiel won it 26-24.
Jastrzębski Węgiel started the third set strong, but ZAKSA fought back from a 19-13 deficit, eventually overtaking and winning the set 31-29.
The fourth set saw ZAKSA ride their newfound momentum, with Jastrzębski Węgiel struggling to keep up, ultimately leading to a 25-19 win for ZAKSA.
The tie-break was a head-to-head battle, but ZAKSA gained the upper hand in the final moments. Bednorz earned the match point, and Śliwka ended the game with a successful attack (15-12).
Top scorers of the match included Tomasz Fornal (24), Jean Patry (16) for Jastrzębski Węgiel; and Bartosz Bednorz (25), Aleksander Śliwka (20) for ZAKSA, with Bednorz also earning the MVP title.
