Poland’s Head Coach Nikola Grbić has announced a preliminary 30-player roster for the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
As the club season winds down, national teams gear up for international duty. Coach Nikola Grbić has released Poland’s extended squad for the upcoming VNL 2025, emphasizing preparation, regeneration, and strategic rotation. The list includes well known names like Bartosz Kurek, Wilfredo Leon, and Tomasz Fornal, alongside promising newcomers such as Kajetan Kubicki and Jordan Zaleszczyk.
Surprisingly absent are Olympic veterans like Paweł Zatorski, Grzegorz Łomacz, and Mateusz Bieniek. Grbić clarified that many of these omissions are due to health and personal reasons, aiming to preserve players for the long term, especially with the 2028 Olympics in mind. “This is not a revolution but a necessary adjustment,” Grbić explained.
The Serbian coach is giving younger players a rare opportunity to step up. “Now is the time to test and develop new talents,” he said, noting that some players might only feature in friendlies rather than official VNL matches.
Training camp begins April 30, with initial participation from youth national team players. The final VNL squad registration with FIVB will wait until the deadline, allowing flexibility based on form and injuries.
Poland will aim for medals again this summer..
