Thus, the world champion remained unbeaten at the start of the 2015 World League – Pool B while Russia has 0-2 score.
The decisive set went into favor of Polish team from the start (4-2). Kurek was unstoppable forcing Russia head coach to call the time-out (7-3).
Russians were very far from approaching the home team until 12-8. Mikhaylov and Moroz stepped in with the strong serve and attack for equalizer – 12-12.
The game than went point by point until Mikhaylov‘s attack went wide giving Poland 18-16 and home fans in Gdańsk the reason to celebrate.
Kurek scored 23 and Mika 21 for Poland. Biryukov had 16 and Mikhaylov 15 points in Russia.
