After being informed from the main sponsor Lotos Group that they are leaving the club, Trefl Gdansk had to find some solution for the team.
They are organizing crowdfunding project, which means they expect a help from the fans. The first goal is to collect 150 thousand Polish zlotys (around 35,000 euros).
The board of the team also is negotiating with some sponsors so they expect to overcome the crisis.
The black scenario assumed bankruptcy, but all indications are that the unchanged team will join the new season, even though the top players Mateusz Mika and Piotr Nowakowski have been contacted by many teams…
“The club’s management is working on enabling “Gdansk lions” to start the new Plusliga season. There are also some talks with the potential new sponsors. The board is doing everything to save the team. The problem is that a very little time has remained until the start of the league,” reports the official website of the team.
A crowdfunding project will be launched at the fan4club.com website on Saturday. This amount and the money from the potential sponsors will be enough for the upcoming period.
