The Italian coach met with PZPS representatives, but failed to persuade them to stay at the helm of the Polish national team.
“The coach thinks that he didn’t make mistakes. He told us that we have such players as we have and that generational change still lasts,” says Jacek Kasprzyk.
He was a successor of Stephane Antiga and he was familiar with the reality of Polish volleyball since he was a coach of Zaksa, with whom he won the championship. After finishing the second season with the team, he was fully devoted to the national team.
With Poland, he failed to reach the Final Six of the World league and afterward he didn’t manage to reach the semifinals, after being eliminated by the Slovenian national team.
Many fans thought that keeping the Italian coach would be the best option, however, the board of PZPS thinks that they need a new head coach since De Giorgi didn’t make any result in 2017.
Now, Poland are seeking for his successor…
