Two Dinamos will fight for the trophy in the 2019 Russian Women’s Cup, while two Zenit’s will face each other for the trophy in the men’s tournament.
The titleholders in the competition Zenit-Kazan downed Kuzbass by a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-18) in the first semifinal. One of the main reasons for such an easy loss of the national champions lies in the fact that they played without their main attacking option Viktor Poletaev, who still didn’t recover from an injury which he sustained in early December. Vadim Likhosherstov top-scored for Zenit-Kazan with 11 points. Bogdan Glivenko scored 14 points for Kuzbass.
Led by Cuban Oreol Camejo (18 points), Zenit Saint-Petersburg swept Dinamo Moscow in the other semifinal. Belgian Sam Deroo poured in 16 points for the team from the Russian capital.
