Dinamo Moscow and Uralochka-NTMK joined Dinamo-Kazan and Lokomotiv in the semifinals of the playoffs of the 2019/20 Superliga Parimatch.
The fourth-seed Dinamo Moscow lost to the fifth-seed Proton in the tie-break of Game 2 but knowing that they prevailed in the first match of the series by a 3-1 and that this season’s regulations say that the quarterfinals are played in a best-of-two format, the team from the Russian capital won in the total score. Actually, Dinamo Moscow needed to take two sets today so when they gained the lead of 2-1, it was all over. Yana Shcherban top-scored for the winning side with 28 points, while Irina Fetisova made 6 kill blocks. Anastasiya Bavykina scored 23 points for Proton, while Elena Savkina made 5 kill blocks.
Third-seed Uralochka-NTMK and sixth-seed Sakhalin played one more tie-breaker. Unlike the above-mentioned duel, the tie-break in this one had a direct impact on what club will advance to the semis. The Ekaterinburg based side prevailed in it and will play in the next stage. Uralochka was led by Kseniya Parubets who poured in 37 points! Elena Tkacheva scored 23 points for Sakhalin. Taisiya Konovalova set up 7 kill blocks.
